WHO ARE CÎROC?
Coming from a family of winemakers and distillers traceable as far back as the 15thcentury, Jean-Sebastien Robicquet continued the family tradition by establishing CÎROC Vodka in 2003. Jean-Sebastien, and the whole CÎROC brand, is passionate about high quality, sophistication and simple luxury. Robicquet is even recognised by the Great Council of Bordeaux Wines as ‘Commandeur de Bordeaux’ for his dedication and accomplishments in the liquor field; his successful ancestors are said to hail from the beautiful wine-growing region. The brand is even named in the region’s honour as ‘CÎROC’ comes from the splicing of two French words – cime, meaning peak or summit-top, and roche, meaning rock – to pay tribute to the high-altitude vineyards that make the delicious CÎROC Vodka possible.
HOW IS CÎROC VODKA MADE?
Straying from the norm, CÎROC Vodka is made from French grapes, as opposed to grains, potatoes or corn. Taking inspiration from the centuries of expert winemaking that have moulded the French landscape, the grapes are distilled at 96% and are not aged, meaning the resulting drink qualifies as a vodka rather than wine. In order to make CÎROC Vodka into the spirit we know and love, the liquid is distilled a grand total of five times, with the fifth distillation occurring in a traditional, tailor-made copper pot. It is the use of grapes, as opposed to more traditional ingredients, that gives the classic CÎROC Vodka its signature citrusy flavour. The brand champions individuality and innovation, as is clear by their extensive range of delicious flavours, so it’s no surprise that even their classic vodka is a little bit special. Incredibly smooth and with an air of sophistication, the classic CÎROC Vodka is a great option to raise your spirits, particularly if you’re in the market for a vodka that stands up just as well on its own as it does incorporated into a cocktail. As a touchstone for the brand, the classic CÎROC Vodka is first class. However, if you’re looking for a bit more vibrancy and something to make your palate dance, you need look no further than the expansive range of CÎROC flavoured vodkas.
OUR FLAVOUR FAVES
Here’s a little run down of some of the CÎROC flavours we think you’ll love. All are available to buy from Drinkly, just put your postcode in the box above to get started!
CÎROC French Vanilla Vodka
Inspired by proper French vanilla ice cream (which is surely enough to peak your interest on its own), this vodka is perfectly smooth and creamy with the subtly sweet flavour of vanilla that we all know and love. There truly is nothing more classically summery than good vanilla ice cream – and why wouldn’t you want that feeling in a drink? All CÎROC Vodkas are sufficiently smooth enough and perfectly drinkable that they work well on the rocks or with whatever mixer tickles your fancy. If you’re after a mixer, Coke goes unexpectedly well with this one and stirs up memories of childhood ice cream floats, though a slightly more grown up one at that. Let your playful side loose and get a little bit classy with this one. Sure, it’s vodka, it’s French vanilla, but it also has the power to take you right back to the British seaside, with seagulls squawking and a melting Flake 99 dripping down your hand. We don’t know about you, but if we can get all these memories from a bottle of vodka without having to leave the house, that would make life so much more than vanilla.
CÎROC Summer Colada Vodka
This limited-edition flavour is the epitome of summer. Infused with juicy, fresh pineapple and creamy coconut, it doesn’t get much more tropical than this. This one was so popular that it caused uproar when it disappeared from our shelves and has been brought back for a limited time by popular demand. Offering tropical fruity goodness on its own or on the rocks, this spirit also brings a punch to a sweet summer cocktail. The natural flavours really stand out here; there’s a reason they had to bring this one back for a last hurrah.
CÎROC Red Berry Vodka
When it comes to choosing the ultimate flavour, red berry is always a safe and yummy bet. There’s nothing not to like here: sweetness, silkiness and a surprising warmth that really elevates this vodka. Based around red summer berries and wild berries, with a particular emphasis on the humble raspberry, this spirit truly lifts a cocktail and is the ultimate crowd pleaser. There’s no need to go cherry-picking in the CÎROC Vodka range as they are all fabulous but this one in particular is a very good shout. Coincidentally, it’s also a very good shot.
CÎROC Amaretto Vodka
Is there anything more exciting than the words ‘amaretto’ and ‘vodka’? Yes, there’s the actual drink! Dominated by that signature amaretto cherry and almond marriage and with a lovely subtle hint of vanilla, this vodka truly is one of a kind. It’s perfectly smooth and drinkable, with the mouth-watering silkiness we expect from this expert brand. This is everything we love about amaretto but with less of a sugary syrupy feel to it and instead embodying the velvety quality of vodka that sends glorious heat straight to your fingertips. This is nutty, cherry, vanilla goodness and is definitely a bandwagon that you want to be hopping onto.
CÎROC Mango Vodka
When beautifully ripe and juicy mangoes start popping up on supermarket shelves, it’s always one of the highlights of the summer. Well, good news: you can get all the delight and joy of mango in this vodka and, thanks to your friends at Drinkly, we’ll bring it right to you without you even having to leave the house. This vodka is consumed by the perfectly tropical taste of Carabao mangoes combined with the CÎROC Vodka’s signature citrus tang. Embodying the delicious flavours of the tropics, this many-layered spirit is velvety smooth and the ideal drink to get you in that holiday mood, whether you’re planning to leave the house or not.
OUR COCKTAIL CREATIONS
So, now you’re educated on all things CÎROC, what can you actually make with the vodka? After something sweet that will last you a little bit longer than just the spirit on the rocks? We’ve got you covered. Here are three delicious cocktail recipes using CÎROC Flavoured Vodkas:
The Mango Mimosa
- 20ml CÎROC Mango Vodka
- 20ml Moet et Chandon Champagne
- 45ml Sunpride Orange Juice
This one is as easy and as delicious as it sounds: simply shake the CÎROC Mango Vodka and the Sunpride Orange Juice together, top up with the champagne and enjoy! The Mango Mimosa is the ideal way to put a tropical twist on a nice fizzy brunch date with your friends. Putting a delicious, summery spin on a classic has never been so easy!
Red Berry Punch
- 50ml CÎROC Red Berry Vodka
- 75ml Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice
- 75ml Schweppes Tonic Water
It’s as simple as pouring these three ingredients into a glass, filling it up with ice and taking a sip! This one is sweet, refreshing and pleasingly fizzy. There’s also nothing stopping you switching the Schweppes Tonic Water for Schweppes Lemonade if tonic water isn’t really your thing. You can also utilise any fresh fruit that’s lying about the house as a berry garnish and a little squeeze of lime could elevate this cocktail with a zing of citrus. This punch really is berry good.
- 45ml CÎROC Amaretto Vodka
- 15ml Sunpride Orange Juice
- 15ml San Pellegrino Lemon Soda
All you need to do here is mix the vodka and orange juice together and top up with the lemon soda (or you can use lemon juice and stir in some granulated sugar if you prefer more of a tang). As the name suggests, this one should be a little bit tart but this is perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the vodka and you can use a sweeter lemonade, such as Schweppes, if sharp things make your mood turn sour.
