What in the World of Wine?

As promised, every week we’ll be updating you on the new stock we have coming in. As the business grows, we’ll be stocking more and more products so keep checking Drinkly.co.uk throughout the week to see what’s been added! And if there is anything you’d like to see, please let us know and we’ll do our best to stock it.

This week, we’re diving headfirst (we wish) into the world of wine and giving you a bit of background on what we’re now offering. Maybe it’ll help you choose. Maybe it won’t. But we do hope you enjoy…. The wine. After you’ve ordered a bottle right after reading this 😉.

First up is the Mar de Lisboa Blanco from 2018. This 12.5% ABV is beautifully aromatic, with a fruit skin texture to go with its creamier pear and pink grapefruit character. The wine is as fresh as a summer morning (looking forward to those again!), finishing with lemon zest acidity. Sounds like the perfect paring for a fish dish.

Now to a wine from across the pond, and then across the continent; Oregon! The Kings Ridge Riesling has travelled over 4,500 miles to get to us and we’re very grapeful! Riesling has nearly become the forgotten grape of Oregon but this vineyard’s fruit adds depth and complexity to its Riesling, without sacrificing the freshness and vibrancy of the grape. Welcome to the UK, dear friend!

Nombre trois; Jean Loron Rift 69 Gamay Noir. Spice and liquorice hit the tongue with this delicious red wine, giving sweet cherry, bilberry and blackberry aromas. Embellished with spicy and mineral notes, the mouthfeel is dense, powerful, round and balanced. Is it just us or does that not sound like that would go really well with a bath…?

Another from across the pond; the 2017 Rodger Strong Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. This earthy yet floral red is soft and silky in texture, contrasting with the cherry, cranberry, and baking spice characteristics on the palate. Well balance and acidic, with a nice lingering finish, has a hint of toasty vanilla and spice complexity, making it the perfect after-dinner drink.

Craving a bottle? So are we. Get down to Drinkly.co.uk and stock up on some incredible wine; we won’t blame you!

Have a lovely weekend, stay safe, always drink responsibly and we hope to serve you soon.
